Crystal Omondi says her first musical performance “scarred me for life,” but she says it with a laugh.
She was 5 and getting down to the Spice girls, not knowing that her brother and his friends were playing video games just outside.
“So I come out full force, coreography and everything from this music video, and they looked at me like I was crazy,” the personable gal from Houston, Texas says.
It was sixth grade before she’d perform again.
But she seems to have gotten over the scars, saying she’s now open to anything in the entertainment field.
In fact, she thinks that might work to her advantage on Idol.
In the music industry today, she says, no one just wants to sit and listen to someone sing.
“People want to be entertained. I think I can do that,” Crystal says in her golden ticket interview.
As for that golden ticket she got in Galveston, she says it’s a “dream within a dream,” because it means a trip to California, a place she’s always wanted to visit.
