Jenni Schick, Season 11

Meet Hollywood bound Jenni Schick

She’ll be remembered as the girl who kissed Steven Tyler during American Idol’s Aspen audition episode.

After all, he was on her list of celebrities she could kiss without it being considered cheating by her boyfriend.

But listen to Jenni Schick’s golden ticket interview, and it’s impossible not to root for this 24-year-old from Sterling, Va.

I mean, she absolutely oozes personality and fun.  And it’s difficult to imagine her ever being intimidated by an Idol stage.

Jenni is a graduate of the Shenandoah Conservatory and a music teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools.

In her spare time, she sings and plays keyboards for a Virigina cover band called Wired.  Their set list includes a little Gaga, a little Pink plus Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” and Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.”  Among many others, of course.

So it’s not surprising that in addition to bowling over the judges with her energy, Jenni impressed them with her rendition of Pat Benetar’s “Heartbreaker.”

As for that golden ticket interview, Jenni says she’s never been shy.  That she’s been performing since she was young.  And that she’d pretty much perform for anyone who stopped by her home.

“I think I have a quirky energy behind me,” she says. “Nobody has met a Jenni Schick or saw someone like a Jenni Schick.”

And, she adds, “it’s about time a rock and roll singer went the whole way (on Idol).”

Here’s Jenni performing some Katy Perry, followed by that memorable audition.  Head to her Facebook music page and you can hear a couple other songs, including an original, “I Don’t Wanna.”
