His audition: Hunter Jordan, 22, of Kentucky, performed “Let Me Down Easy” by Billy Currington. Hunter displaced a fine country tone and some nice power behind it. That prompted quick chair turns from Adam Levine and John Legend. When Hunter hit the chorus, Kelly Clarkson turned as well. Hunter also performed with impressive passion. Adam said he knows “greatness when I hear it” and made a passionate pitch to land a country singer. Kelly and John remind him that he doesn’t have to do just country on the show and said they’d be excellent coaches to expand his musical horizons.

* He’s a young country artist and full-time musician, a native of Vanceburg, Ken. and resident of Maysville in the same sate.

* And he’s another of the Season 29 contestants with music out — in his case five singles dating back to 2023. His 2024 single “My Everything” features an especially impressive vocal. Check out a snippet of the song below.

* His latest is an fine country single called “Next Day,” released in May, about the impression a woman leaves on him “the next day.”

* On his website, Hunter says he’s played more than 600 shows, and he’s seen first-hand the boost a singing show can provide for a country singer.

* He opened for Bryce Leatherwood, The Voice Season 22 champ, at a show in Louisville, Kent.. and he and performed at the SOAR Country Music Highway Tribute Show in Louisa, Kentucky, in a lineup that included American Idol Season 20 champ Noah Thompson.

* In an interview with the Ledger Independent last summer, Hunter said his major musical influences include Rascal Flatts, Luke Bryan, Jason Alden, Chris Stapleton and Morgan Wallen.

* “I have always been around music my entire life,” he told the newspaper. “Inspired by many different genres, but found the most influential genre to be country.”

* He said he’s a self-taught guitar player, starting when he was just 6 of 7 years old. He honed his performance skills in high school musical theater productions.

* While he’s primarily a country singer, he says his show setlist also includes 1980s rock and grunge.

* Hunter already has more than 28,000 followers and more than 200,000 likes on his TikTok.
