His audition: J.W. Griffin, 25, Georgia, “Long Haired Country Boy” by Charlies Daniels: J.W. showed off a nice country tone, earning a quick chair turn from Kelly Clarkson. Before he even hits the chorus, Adam Levine and John Legend turned as well. Adam said J.W. has one of his favorite voices he’s ever heard on the show, calling it special, soulful and unique. Kelly called him a great story teller with great range. John reminded J.W. that he’s taken a country artist to the finals on The Voice in the past.

Here’s more about J.W.:

* He’s a singer-songwriter from Moultrie in southern Georgia who’s now based in Nashville.

* And he’s been releasing music since the summer of 2023 — about 10 originals singles and a 2024 EP called “Make It Myself.”

* On his website, J.W. describes his music as blending “small-town charm with beach-town breezes, crafting songs hat feel like sunsets and long drives.”

* His 2024 single “Summer Sound” was named Song of the Summer by the MAPCO gas station chain and is his most streamed to date on Spotify.

* J.W.’s latest release dropped in December, a cover of Hinder’s “Lips of an Angel.” J.W. says it’s a song that wound up in his Spotify wrapped seven straight years and is one he performed ofen wheil attending Florida-Southern College “so I thought I should release my own version.”

* He also released a pair of originals last year, “Day in the Sun” an “Coastin’.” Check out a snippet of the latter below. It’s a great song and both certainly fit J.W.’s description of his music.

* And you might say J.W. is a bit of a Georgia University football fan. He even released a song about it, “That’s Just Georgia,” back in 2023.

* J.W.’s been singing quite a while judging from posts on an Instagram account loaded with covers from 2018-2019 time frame and a TikTok that shows him playing guitar while two young sisters sing along.
