Jaali Boyd of The Voice Season 29

Jaali Boyd is among the artists who auditioned for Season 29 of The Voice.

The Voice will kick off Season 29 with a new format and just three coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levin and John Legend — on Feb. 23.

Here’s more about Jaali:

* She’s a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Columbus, Ohio, now based in the Maryland-D.C. area.

* And while she doesn’t appear to have released her own music yet, she is working on an EP she hopes to release in 2026.

* What she has been doing is singing background for a number of artists, including former Motown artist Kevin Ross.

* And she’s clearly enjoyed that experience, writing on social media: “When @kevinrossmusic 🐐 gives you space to do what you love.♥️ It’s really an honor and a blessing to share a stage with someone soooo freaking amazing!”

* Jaali does have one song on streaming sites, a cover of Kenyon Dixon’s “Hard Way.” The cover is a collaboration with Mariah Laneé. You can check it out below.

* Jaali’s mother is also a singer. In a Mindfully Delusional Podcast interview, Jaali said her mother inspired her to pursue music and remains her biggest supporter.

* “She taught me all she knows,” Jaali says. “She put me in choir. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t singing.”

* In the same interview, she said her dream collaboration would be with Michael J. Woodard, a Top 5 finisher on Season 16 of American Idol who has enjoyed a good deal of post-show success.

* A graduate of Wallace Baldwin University, Jaali also works with her mother, serving as executive director of Musically Yours Entertainment. The business provides live music for events as well as music education and instruction.
