Jordan Matthew Young from The Voice Season 20

Jordan Matthew Young is among the artists to announce they auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice.

Here’s more about Jordan:

* He’s a southern rock and blues performer now based in Austin, Texas.

* That said, the Roosevelt, Utah, native has moved around a bit, spending his 20s learning and playing the blues in Tennessee, according to a bio on The Yes Hell.

* He was back in Oregon, performing with a band called Candy’s River House when the group released a six-song EP called “Stolen in the Middle of the Night” in 2014.

* Jordan’s name was front and center when the band released a nine-song follow-up album — “Another Night” – in 2015.

* That album earned the group album of the year and best rock band honors in the 2016 Best of Utah Music Awards, according to Jordan’s Facebook page.

* And though I haven’t been able to find it on Apple Music, Jordan has a full four-track EP called “Rain or Shine” from 2017 on his YouTube channel. You’ll also find that EP on Spotify; check out the bluesy “Lead Me Home” from that project below.

* Pre-COVID, he was playing 200 gigs a year, according to that bio.

* According to his website bio, Jordan has shared the stage with ZZ Top, Shooter Jennings, Tinsley Ellis and many others.

Editor’s note: Season 20 of The Voice is scheduled to kick off Monday, March 1 on NBC.
