Season 25 begins Monday, Feb. 26, with the coaching quartet of John Legend, Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay.
Here’s more about Karen:
* She describes herself as a Louisiana-born inspirational artists on Instagram, and she’s already released lots of impressive country music.
* She was 24 and Nashville based when she finished Top 10 on the song-writing show Platinum Hit back in 2011.
* Karen has two albums and at least a half dozens EPs available on streaming sites. The albums include 2018’s “Justified” and 2023’s “Kendall Country Road.”
* A cover of Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” from the former has nearly 500,000 streams on Spotify. It’s one of at least six Karen Waldrup songs with at least 100,000 streams on the site.
* And there’s one heck of a backstory behind the song “Normandy” on her 2023. album. She wrote the song with D-Day veteran Jim Martin after being asked to perform at his 100th birthday.
* She later got to sing the song for him on his 101st birthday. Sadly, he passed two days after the album was released, but Karen sang the song again at his funeral.
* Another of her songs, 2018’s “Tell Them We Lived,” was inspired by her involvement with Mission of Hope and a trip she took to Haiti, traveling village to village, performing music with two other musicians.
* Karen told Canvas Rebel she was so moved by the poverty facing residents there that she launched a fundraiser that led to the construction of two homes.
* One of Karen’s latest singles — and another track from the 2023 album — is “Nothing Is Impossible,” a collaboration with Wendy Moten, a Season 21 finalist on The Voice. Says Karen: “It’s a song about going after your dreams, and believing in your dreams no matter what gets in the way.”
* Don’t be surprised is Karen covers classic country on the show. Among her most popular covers on TikTok are “Harper Valley PTA” and Voice coach Reba McEntire’s “Fancy.”

I don’t understand why she is trying out for The Voice! She has pretty much made it into country music! She has recorded, touring, recently named as new artist to watch, etc. She is a great singer already.
Doesn’t seem fair to those who are trying to get into the field!

Karen Waldrup is the real deal and she has it all to win The Voice!!
