Katrina Parker, Season Two Contestants, The Voice

Meet Katrina Parker of The Voice (Team Adam)

Katrina Parker is the insurance worker Carson Daly surprised by delivering an invitation to The Voice to her office, where many of her co-workers didn’t even know she was a singer.

In fact, Katrina says The Voice audition marked the first time in about three years she had performed for an artist, partly because of illness that she says stemmed from mold in her home.

But back in 2005, Katrina released a 6-track EP called “Only Dreaming.” It’s still available on iTunes.

The 34-year-old from Hollywood is a native of North Carolina, and The Voice identifies her as an indie pop singer/songwriter who also plays piano.

Among a list of fun facts about Katrina, we learn that:

* Her father had 14 siblings and her mom had seven, which makes for a very large extended family.

* Katrina had long red hair for about 10 years, but recently chopped it off and dyed it blond.

* And that she’s obsessed with zombies on film, TV and in books and has “been known to re-write old TV themes to be zombie songs.”

On The Voice, she shied away from zombie songs and sang “One of Us” well enough to earn a spot on Team Adam.

She’s katrinapmusic on Twitter; here’s a link to her Facebook page.

And her motto is apparently: “I sing. I write songs. I ride unicorns …”
