Kimmy Gabriela from Lakeland, Fla., is one of the contestants who auditioned for American Idol Season 18

And we’re getting glimpses of some of the contestants in promo video the show is releasing.

One of those is Kimmy Gabriela of Lakeland, Fla.

Here’s more about Kimmy.

* You’ll spot her at the 1:01 mark of this promo video. She has long dark curly hair and we hear her sing one impressive line from her audition.

* The clip quickly cuts to Lionel Richie proclaiming “wow” and all three judges pointing and exclaiming “you’re going to Hollywood,” presumably in reaction to her performance.

* Kimmy confirmed her Idol audition in an Instagram post on Sunday, writing “You guys are always telling me I should try and go out and chase my dreams and audition for a show so … I did. You guys have no idea how much your kind words and support mean to me.”

* On her Instagram page, Kimmy refers to herself as just doing some videos for fun, nothin’ too serious.

* That said, she’s posted dozens of videos since Nov. 18, including covers of standards like Sia’s “Chandelier,” Lady Gaga’s “A Million Reasons” and Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.”

* One of those covers — “Empire State of Mind” — was featured on the Vocal Run Facebook page, created “to inspire the current and next generation of vocalists.”

* She’s also developed quite a following, to the tune of more than 87,000 followers on Instagram.

* She hasn’t released music, but has posted at least one original to her Instagram, a song written for a best friend who is in the military. It’s called “Before You Go” and you can check it out here.
