Laila Mach from American Idol Season 19

And we already know the outcome of her audition.

An American Idol promo that aired earlier this year included a glimpse of Laila showing off her golden ticket to her family via Zoom.

Here’s more about Laila.

* She’s from New Paltz, N.Y., and a sophomore in high school, according to a story on HudsonValleyOne.com about her Idol audition.

* She participates in the choir and an a cappella group at New Paltz High School.

* And in spite of her young age, she’s released quite a bit of music.

* That includes a six-song EP called “Lessons Learned” in August of last year and an eight-song album, “Stuck On You,” which dropped on Jan. 1.

* Most of the songs on “Stuck on You” are about young love. It’s a quite impressive project. Check out “Changes” below.

* And those weren’t even her debut releases. Laila released her first single — “That’s Not My Place” — in 2019 when she was 14.

* According to a press release announcing that song, Laila started playing piano when she was just 4 years old.

* She’s since learned to play guitar and ukulele as well, that release says.

* Says Laila in that HudsonValleyOne piece: ““I’m thrilled that I will be on the show this season. I’m so glad I have never given up on my goals, even when I’ve been told ‘no’ in the past. I’m looking forward to all good things ahead!”

* Laila already has a sizeable social following, including more than 31,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel.
