Landon McGraw of American Idol Season 24
Idol returned to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood. Audition episodes continue to air Mondays through most of February.
Here’s more about Landon:
* He’s a senior at Wheelersburg High School in Ohio, where he played tight end for the football team and plays forward for the basketball team.
* In fact, Wheelersburg recently completed a 14-1 football season, with the lone loss coming against Liberty Center in a state championship game.
* Landon told Spectrum 1 that he began playing guitar during the pandemic and now performs at local events.
* His music is described as a blend of country, folk and rock. He previously released music to streaming sites — including songs called “Who Would’ve Thought” and “Other Than That” — but they’re no longer available.

* In interviews, Landon credits his experience with sports for teaching him the discipline it takes to do music. And for making performing for a live audience less intimidating.
* He told Tri-State Sports that he performed a Lionel Richie / Commodores song at his Idol audition.
* And he got the call that he’d be performing for the show’s celebrity judges right before one of his football games at Wheelersburg.
* Though he performs live, “Music is more of a hobby than a job,” he told the site. “If I can turn my hobby into a job, that would be great.”
