Landynn Kennedy of American Idol Season 23

Landynn Kennedy is among the artists who auditioned for Season 23 of American Idol.

Idol kicked off Season 23 March 9 with Carrie Underwood joining Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie at the judges’ table.

Sunday will mark the last audition episode before Hollywood Week begins.

Here’s more about Landynn.

* He’s 20 years old and a 2023 graduate of Kingstree Senior High School in Kingstree, S.C.

* And he told his hometown newspaper that he first auditioned for American Idol three years ago.

* “I kept trying and trying and, finally, I made it through,” he told The Kingstree News.

* Landynn performed “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt for his audition. And the way he’s promoting his appearance on the show, the audition must have gone pretty well.

* Landynn says he grew up in a musical family and he credits his mom for teaching him most of what he knows about music. She passed away in October 2018.

* And while he hasn’t released music yet, he appears ready to do so, promoting a song called “Trailride” on Instagram. “Can’t wait to see yall on the dance floor,” he adds.

* Landynn grew up singing at Community Temple Church of Christ and was also active in chorus while in high school.
