Lucia Flores-Wiseman of The Voice Season 27

Her audition: Lucia Flores-Wiseman, 22, Maple Valley, Wash., performed “La Llorona” by Angela Aguilar: The Voice leaked Lucia’s blind audition, which will air Monday, but stopped the clip short of her selection of a coach. Lucia’s lovely tone prompted almost immediate chair turns from Adam Levine and Michael Buble. Kelsea Ballerini joined them just a couple lines late, followed by John Legend.Lucia’s performance continued to get stronger until an excellent closing note. Kelsea said the performance left her feeling weirdly emotional and said Lucia has a “God-given voice.” Adam said she has a singular voice. John called her performance like Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse singing in Spanish. Michael made his pitch in Spanish, calling her voice “amazing.” Luxcia wound up joining Team Adam.

Here’s more about Lucia.

* She’s a 22-year-old Mexican-American singer-songwriter from Seattle, Wash., who’s already released music.

* In Lucia’s case, that includes five singles currently on streaming sites dating back to 2018.

* Her most recent releases were a pair of 2023 singles, “Owl & Bird” and “Promise You.” She has an impressive and distinct vocal style. Check out the music video for “Promise You” below.

* According to her 2024 Spotify Wrapped, her songs were streamed nearly 9,500 times last year.

* She’s a graduate of Tahoma High School in Maple Grove, Washington, and the University of Washington.

* And she’s been performing live since she started playing coffee houses as a high school student.

* In a 2020 video, she says the first song she ever performed live was Birdy’s “Skinny Love” at a Maple Valley Junior Idol competition.

* She eventually made it to the real American Idol, auditioning in front of the show’s superstar judges in the fall of 2018. Her Spotify bio says she sang on Idol in two seasons.

* On her website, Lucia says her musical influences include Amy Winehouse, Nora Jones and Brandi Carlile.

* And in one of her more memorable performances, she got to sing “Hallelujah” with Brandi Carlile at a concert sponsored by the Tahoma Schools Foundation back in 2018. She was just 16 at the time.

* Lucia describes her music as a blend of indie, folk and jazz.

* She’s more than a little ecstatic to announce that she got to audition for The Voice, calling the opportunity “the most exciting thing of my life.”

* And to celebrate, she released a brand new song called “Transitions” on Friday. It’s excellent, so be sure to check it out. She says it’s “been a song that’s always gotten me through tough times and I hope it’ll do that same for you.”
