Mor Ilderton from The Voice Season 26

His audition: Mor Ilderton, 20, Teays Valley, W.Va., “Coal,” : Mor shows off a nice tone but sounds a bit nervous. Michael Buble turned pretty early in the song. Eventually, his vocal earned chair turns from Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire as well. But Reba was blocked by Michael Buble. Reba called him incredible and liked the maturity in his voice. Michael liked his distinct tone. Mor decided to join Team Buble.

Here’s more about Mor.

* He’s from Charleston, W.Va., and his Spotify bio reads simply: “I make folk music and I love Jesus.”

* So it makes sense that his debut single, released in April, is a Christian folk song called “Welcome Sign.” He released it under the artist name mor.

* And it’s been pretty well received with more than 88,000 streams on Spotify.

* Of course, Mor promoted it relentlessly and even did a few backflips in the process, calling “Welcome Sign” perfect for anyone looking for “more folk, windows down, road trip music for this summer.”

* Mor attended Hurricane and Winfield high schools in West Virginia, then attended Concord University there.

* In fact, he was a kicker for the Concord football team, playing 10 games as kickoff specialist in 2022 before redshirting in 2023.

* In an artist spotlight on YouTube, Mor says he grew up around music, recalls his dad playing guitar when he was young and says his dad always had three guitars up in the attic.

* Around his freshman or sophomore year of high school, “one day, I just picked (a guitar) up, looked up a YouTube video and I started trying to learn it. I’ve never looked back from there.”

* While “Welcome Sign” is the only song he’s released, he’s posted three more originals to YouTube — “Don’t Let ‘Em,” “In Me” and “Beside You.”
