Pete Mroz from The Voice Season 20

Pete Mroz is among the artists who have announced that they auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice.

Here’s more about Pete.

* He was born in Indiana and moved to Nashville at age 19 to pursue a country music career as Pete Mitchel.

* Decades later, he refers to himself as a songwriter, guitar player, photographer, videographer, business man and a bluesman and his music as singer-songwriter, adult contemporary and blues.

* During that time, he’s released plenty of music, including three albums you’ll find on iTunes — “Detashment” from 2009, “We’ll Rise Above” from 2011 and “The Silence in Between” from January 2020.

* His most recent release was a five-track EP called “The Land of Oz” that came out in November. Check out the excellent “Heartache and Lace” from that EP below.

* He’s also part of a blues quintet called Super Honk that performs in Nashville and released a 10-song Super Honk Live album you’ll find on Peter’s website.

* On his website bio, he says his early influences included Steve Green, Eric Clapton and Garth Brooks.

* Writes Peter: “Though I never became that country star, my path was to be a journeyman … exploring different genres of music, writing love songs, expressing myself through the lens of a camera or helping a person solve a problem.

Editor’s note: Season 20 of The Voice is scheduled to kick off Monday, March 1 on NBC.
