Phil Kane is among the singers we’ll meet Sunday night on American Idol.

Sunday will mark the final audition episode of American Idol Season 21.

Next week, it’ll be Hollywood time for the contestants we’ve met since Season 21 kicked off Feb. 19.

Here’s more about Phil.

* He’s 18, from Pawhuska, Okla. and currently a student at Belmont University.

* He’s the son of Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice M. John Kane IV and Cynthia Kane. a published auhor who has appeared on the Food Network with friend Ree Drummond.

* On Idol, he’ll perform an original called “Osage County” while playing piano.

* And the song will draw rave reviews from the judges, who give Phil a standing ovation.

* In fact, Luke Bryan labels him a country Jackson Browne. Katy Perry praises his authenticy and his piano playing skills. And Phil breezes to Hollywood with three yeses from the Idol judges.

* Turns out the song that garnered so much praise from the judges is one Phil wrote when he was just 16, the first song he wrote no less.

* Acccording to his online profile, Phil took seven years of piano lessons prior to graduating high school and was part of the 4-H music core program and he choir at St. Mary’s Private Academy in Oklahoma.

* He’s won several music competitions, incluidng the 2019 Pawhuska talent show, the 2020 4-H round music competition and the 2021 Barnsdall talent show.
