About Rizzi:
* Her real first name is Renee and she performed every weekend growing up, according to her Voice bio. About 10 years ago, she made the move to Nashville where she landed a gig as a session singer and a publishing and development deal.
* Soon after, she got pregnant with her first child and moved back to Kansas City, stepping away from music for a while to raise her daughter.
* Rizzi has since moved back to Nashville, gotten married and had her second child. She’s also been involved in a wide array of music projects.
* Working with Phivestarr Records and AVJ Records, she released a pair of singles — “Closer to Closure” and “I Love Christmas” — in 2016.
* Featuring a soulful pop sound, Rizzi returned with a five-song EP called “Freedom” the next year. “Lie” from that project is especially impressive, and I’ve embedded it below.
* She’s also been a featured vocalist on several dance tracks released by label mate DK KO, including three tracks on his 2016 debut EP “High Gravity.”
* Rizzi went viral three years ago. She posted a video in which she impersonates 15 female singers in the span of three minutes, singers ranging from Lady Gaga to Marilyn Monroe to Miranda Lambert. It became a YouTube hit and has racked up more than 11.5 million views.
* Rizzi is also featured on two tracks on “Supernatural,” the latest album from country rap artist Upchurch. Rizzi’s features are on “No One” and “Empty Grave.” The album reached number six on Billboard’s country music charts.
* In 2017, she Rizzi a duet called “Bad Day” on Colt Ford’s country album, “Love Faith Hope.” He called Rizzi “a great singer-songwriter” in an interview with Billboard and said the song “might be one of the hidden gems of anything that I have ever done.” Coincidentally, Season 1 Voice champ Javier Colon was featured on one of the album’s other tracks.
* Rizzi told Voice Views she decided to audition because “I’ve always loved the show. I was turning 30 this year and I wanted to give it my best try and see where it went. I want to live my best life.”
* In terms of her original music, here’s how Rizzi describes herself: “I’m a mix of Sia and Rihanna with a pinch of Adele — lol. I would describe my music as funky with cool 8 0 8 beats and sass! I love lyrics that mean something that someone else could relate to. I always want to keep my music real.”
* As noted on the show, at age 17, Rizzi met Kelly backstage at one of her shows. But that wasn’t Rizzi’s only reason for joining Team Kelly. “I love her personality. I love that her and I are both mothers of two and married. She seems very genuine and honestly a great person. I knew she was always my coach. I freaking love her!”
