Tae Lewis of The Voice Season 25

Tae Lewis is among the artists who auditioned for a spot on The Voice Season 25.

Season 25 begins Monday, Feb. 26, with the coaching quartet of John Legend, Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay.

Here’s more about Tae:

* He’s a 31-year-old country artist from North Carolina who’s already released lots of music.

* That music comes in the form of nine singles released since 2019 and a five-song EP from 2020.

* Tae released his most recent single, “Summer of ’21,” last May. He co-wrote it with Mary Kutterr and former American Idol contestant Chris Sligh.

* Says Tae: “As I was walking into this write … I explained I wanted a song that reminded me of my background — church and country. This song embodies just that.” You can check it out below.

* According to his website bio, Tae discovered his passion for music at a young age in church.

* His fascination with country music came a age 13 when new neighbors moved in next door and introduced him to the genre.

* “I said, ‘Is this gospel music?’ The sound that [it] gave off was very inspirational, but also there were so many sounds and elements of gospel music in it,” Tae told American Songwriter. “That was my first introduction to [country music]. I was like, ‘This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.’”

* On his website, Tae says his inspirations were Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill and new Voice judges Dan + Shay.

* He eventually moved to Nashville and one of his songs, “Good Lovin'” was featured in the TV show “Shameless.”

* Last spring, he was named one of Tractor Supply’s five emerging country artists, earning a mentorship from former American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina in the process.
