Talon Cardon of American Idol Season 24

Talon Cardon is among the artists who have announced that they auditioned for American Idol Season 24.

Idol returns to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26, with the coaching trio of Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

Here’s more about Talon:

* He’s a singer-songwriter from Orem, Utah with music already out.

* And if the name sounds familiar, it might be because Talon auditioned and earned a spot on Team John Legend on Season 16 of The Voice in the spring of 2019.

* Talon, 18 at the time, auditioned with “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur. John praised his voice and his potential, but Talon was eliminated in the battle round.

* He followed up that appearance by releasing a single called “Lovesick” in 2020. It’s no longer available.

* What is available on streaming sites is a song called “Ghost” that dropped in April. He’s since released two remixes of the song as well.

* “I’ve been putting so much work into my artistry and music the past few years,” Talon wrote on Instagram. “This is the first track of many and it means the world to me to finally be able to share it with you.”

* During his bio segment on The Voice, Talon said he bought his first guitar when he was 12, then starting taking guitar lessons.

* By the time he was in high school, Talon said he was a member of three cover bands that toured around Utah performing.

* He’s also released music with childhood friend Preston Harward, a contestant on Season 16 of American Idol. As Part Time, the duo released a pair of singles — “Just Another Day” and “Aggressive” — in 2022.

* Talon announced his Idol audition on Jan. 2, saying he grew up watching the show.
