Zeal of The Voice Season 25

The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Feb. 26. Coaches for Season 25 will be John Legend, Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper and Day + Shay.

Here’s more about Zeal.

* She’s an L.A.-based Christian artist who’s among several Season 25 contestants who have already released music.

* In Zeal’s case, that’s a trio of singles — “Peace Be Still” from 2020, “Can’t Give Up Now” from 2022 and “Every Step” from last summer.

* Says Zeal of “Every Step”: “I can’t even begin to explain how much this song means to me. My journey in life, I know God has been there with me in every Valley and Peak of joy.

* “I really do not know where I would be without the Lord,” she adds. “Thinking about all of that…I cried so much during this video shoot … Lol. I pray this song blesses you as well.” Check out the music video — and Zeal’s very impressive vocal — below.

* Zeal’s website bio says she grew up in a musical family and developed a passion for ministry at age 8.

* By age 12, she began playing piano and drums, which eventually led to writing songs and producing music.

* Her influences include CeCe Winans, Kirk Franklin, Richard Smallwood, Kim Burrell to Whitney Houston, Brandy, Lauryn Hill and Stevie Wonder, she says on her website.

* And she’s shared the stage with Kirk Franklin, Maverick City, Jason Nelson and Kanye West.

* She also leads worship with her husband Trygg at various churches, according to that bio.

* While the three singles listed above are the Zeal music you’ll find on streaming sites, they aren’t the only music she’s released. Back in 2011, she released a 14-song album called “Truth Served Raw = Free” and you can find performances of some of those songs on YouTube as well.
