Megan Joy reaches her goal, and gets married

0

About three weeks ago, I reported that season eight Idol contestant Megan Joy had launched a kickstarter campaign to fund the release of a seven-song EP.

Well, she reached her $15,000 goal with plenty of time to spare. And she celebrated by getting married on Sunday.

Just joking of course. The two events were planned independently. They just wound up being a happy coincidence.

As for the wedding, Megan married Quinn Allman of the Utah band The Used.

“It was magic,” she tweeted her followers, along with a photo of her and Quinn kissing.

As for the honeymoon … well, that will have to wait until next month.

First, Megan says she wants to “bust out” the videos she’s promised and start planning the album.

Back when she launched the kickstarter campaign, she said her “beautiful” album was 80 percent complete and that she needed just a little help — $15,000 — to release it.

As of today, 365 backers have pledged about $17,250. And there are still nine days to go in the campaign.

No word yet on when the album might be released.
