Catching up on recent releases from country artists fans met on The Voice.
Morgan Myles, third on Season 22 when she was the very firt contestant we met, has released a cover of Chris Stapleton’s “What Am I Gonna Do.” Morgan says when her mother heard her version of the song “she immediately was in tears because we had just lost our Mimi (Morgan’s grandmother) this past February … when we lose the people that our so massive in our everyday lives and the ones we look up to, it’s a scary thing to have to start a new chapter. The blessing is we have so many memories that are incredible.” The song follows “Reap” as Morgan’s second release of 2024. Morgan also has a bunch of shows coming up in August and September.
Preston James from Season 11 has a new country single out called “Fences.” He wrote the song with Logan Wall and Steve Moakler. In an Instagram message to fans, he said they showed him the unfinished song and he found it “really true” to his own love story. “Immediately, the second verse fell out of me. This song kind of fell out of the sky for me.” It follows “Deal With the Devil” as Preston’s second single of 2024.
Tanner Gomes from Season 19 has released a new country single called “No Chains.” The song idea stemmed from a trip to Franklin, Tenn., when his companion noted “it’s pretty, but too many chains.” Tanner said he wound up writing the songs in a couple of hours with Cameron Merrell in a couple of hours. It follows “Molly” as his second release of 2024 and he says he has three more singles on the way. “I believe in these songs so much, and it’s the confidence I’ve been needing to pursue the next step. ”
