On a week where the most notable new releases were Christmas albums, the Billboard charts brought mixed tidings for our former Idols.

There was bad news for Kris Allen, whose first single disappeared from the Hot 100 singles chart after just one week. And for Jordin Sparks, whose second album fell out of the Billboard 200 after just 11 weeks.

But there was also good news for Jordin, because her second single is getting a lot of dance club play. And for Carrie Underwood, whose “Cowboy Casanova” is dancing up the country singles charts.

Here’s the rundown.

Kris Allen, the single's already gone from the Hot 100 (AP Photo)Kris Allen: Is Kris the top three finisher from season eight most likely to have a first album flop on his hands? The poor chart showing by “Live Like We’re Dying” doesn’t look like a good omen. It was 89 on the Hot 100 last week. This week, it’s gone.

Kelly Clarkson: Don’t look now, but “Already Gone” has cracked the top 20 among the Hot 100 singles. It jumped four spots to number 19 this week. It’s also number 13 among pop singles. The album, “All I Ever Wanted,” moved up six spots to 94 on the Billboard 200.

Daughtry: “No Surprise,” the first single from the new album, is number 11 on the adult contemporary chart, though it dropped from 41 to 46 on the Hot 100. On the Billboard 200, “Leave This Town” feel five spots, from 41 to 46.

Blake Lewis: “Sad Song,” the first single off the new album, moves up again on the dance club chart, from 25 to 21. The album, “Heartbreak on Vinyl,” debuts at number 135 on the Billboard 200.

Kellie Pickler: Her self-titled second album is still number 182 on the Billboard 200, 43 weeks after its release.

Jordin Sparks: And her second album is no where among the Billboard 200, 11 weeks after its release. Last week, it was 157. But the “Battlefield” single is number 12 on the pop song chart and number 44 on the Hot 100 (down from 35). And “SOS (Let the Music Play)” jumped from 20 to 13 on the dance club play chart, six weeks after its release.

Phil Stacey: “If You’re Not Broken,” the first single off Phil’s first Christian album, slips two spots, from 21 to 19, on the Christian singles chart.

Carrie Underwood: “Casanova Cowboy” dances from number eight to number six on the country singles chart, fitting since this marks its sixth week on the chart. The song falls from 14 to 20 on the Hot 100, but it’s the top digital download among all Idol tunes at number 22.
