For the third straight week, the top Idol album on the Billboard 200 is Crystal Bowersox’s “Farmer’s Daughter.”
The debut CD from Idol’s season nine runner-up dropped from 47 to 62 in its third week on the charts. Reports indicate it has now surpassed the sales for Lee DeWyze’s post-Idol debut.
Lee’s “Live It Up” suffered another nosedive on the charts this week, falling 45 spots from 125 to 170. It’s been on the charts for seven weeks.
Other highlights for former Idol contestants on the Billboard chart this week:
* Jason Castro’s first Christian single, “You Are,” jumped from 20 to 11 among Hot Christian singles. Hot on its tail: “Only You Can Save” by another former Idol contestant, Chris Sligh, at number 12. Don’t forget, Jason plays Lancaster next month.
* Kelly Clarkson’s duet with Jason Aldean — “Don’t You Want to Stay” — was one of the week’s big gainers on the Hot 100 singles chart, moving up from 57 to a new peak of 52.
* Carrie Underwood is at number three for the second straight week on the country singles chart with “Mama’s Song.” Standing between her and number one are Tim McGraw’s “Felt Good on My Lips” and Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party.” Come on, guys, be gentlemen and move aside. Two more spots and Carrie will have her fourth number one off “Play On.”
The complete rundown of Idols on the music chart will come later.

If Crystals is #1 it doesn’t say much for how well idols are doing, does it?
Her and Lee together are a mere drop in the bucket to what idols used to sell in their first weeks.
