Four of the singers taking the stage Monday night on The Voice have released music since Season 27 began.

That includes Barry Jean Fontenot, Angie Rey, Tinika Wyatt and Simone Marijic.

Here’s more about each of those releases. Follow the links for more on each of the artists.

Barry Jean Fontenot released a song called “Missing,” his first release since the pandemic. He calls it “a pop-soul track that, like many of my songs, amounts to something like a self-directed hypocrisy-audit, this time on the subject of ‘love.’ Though, on the surface, the tone is rather cynical about love, it also invites the listener to be skeptical of the narrator’s account of their feelings.” He’s got another single on the way called “The Prayer,” the first track off an upcoming concept album.

Angie Rey has released a single called “Running Back.” Says Angie: “This song is a piece of my heart, and I’ve poured so much of myself into it. This is also the first song I’ve released that I have been a co-writer myself!” More is coming, thanks largely to lessons learned and exposure from The Voice, Angie writes on Instagram. “I’m recording new music that I co-wrote and absolutely love, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all.”

Tinika Wyatt released a Christian single called “Don’t Be Afraid” on March 21. Says Tinika: “This song may not reach the masses. It may not win any awards. It may not even be the best thing you’ve heard from me. But I do believe this is a message God has given me. And it’s a necessary word of encouragement for people, not just for me.” A coach’s replay artist, Tinika nabbed the last available steal in the battle round and will now be singing as a member of Team Kelsea.

Simone Marijic released her ethereal debut single, “Until the Morning Dew Arrives” on March 20. “This song is my baby, so I hope you like it,” she writes on Instagram. Simone lost her Team Kelsea battle round match, which aired Monday. But just as she was about to leave the stage area, she was saved by Michael Buble. Says Simone: “I can’t believe I am lucky enough to work with two coaches who are gifted artists and genuine people!”
