Here’s a look at recent releases from former contestants on The Voice.

They include a featured vocal for Riley Biederer, a pair of songs from Season 5 finalist Will Champlin and a single from Monique Benabou.

Here’s a bit more about each of those releases. The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.

* Disco Lines has released an incredibly catchy single called “Younger” with Riley Biederer from Season 9 providing the vocals. There’s a music video for the song too; it does not feature Riley. Says Disco Lines: “@rileybiederer you are such an incredible vocalist and @maxhite1 you’re an insanely talented director!” It’s not Riley’s first time being featured on an excellent EDM track. She and Frank Walker collaborated on “Heartbreak Back” in 2018. Riley’s last original music came in the form of a “heaven/heartaches” EP a year ago, featuring “Love Sucks.”

* Will Champlin from Season 5 is also using the stage name KillWill. And Will and KillWill have teamed up for two recent singles. Will describes “Visions” as a “vibey psychedelic alternative hip-hop track w some blasting soulful harmonica laid on the top of it.” He also released “Sky Is Falling” a collaboration with an L.A.-based artist known as 6th Street, who says the song was the product of a zoom writing session.

Monique Benabou from The Voice Season 2

* Monique Benabou from Season 2 released a song called “Under Pressure” just before Christmas. She says it’s about “hitting rock bottom, surrendering to hard truths & beginning again.” Then she elaborates: “Jordan Sherman & I first wrote this song on tour in Sydney, Australia on the floor of our homie’s living room. It was in a moment of realizing that I had been living my life for the approval of others, only to meet failure after failure, constantly abandoning myself, my truth & staying stuck in a cycle of incompletion & helplessness. The day I realized that this was my life and no one else had to clean up these messes, nor deal with the consequences of my life other than me, aa switch flipped & it was the beginning of doing life on my terms.” Monique had gone five years between singles when she released “Just Breathe” earlier this year.
