In just two days, we’ll have a new single from Chris Daughtry and his band.
And Friday will also mark the beginning of pre-sales for the band’s greatest hits album.
The single is called “Torches” and will be one of two new tracks featured on the album, “It’s Not Over … The Hits So Far.”
The song was co-written by Chris and Dave Bassett, also a co-writing on the Elle King hit “Ex’s & Oh’s.”
“Torches” will be available as an instant download for anyone pre-ordering the album.
That album will feature 13 tracks, five of which come from the band’s phenomenally successful debut album. Those include “What About Now,” “Over You,” “Feels Like Tonight,” “It’s Not Over” and “Home.”
The album is due out Feb. 12.
And a deluxe physical version of the album will be available at Walmart. It will feature a second, 12-track disc called “Acoustic Live — 2015.” You’ll also find that track list below.
In other Daughtry news, Chris has drawn a collectible cover for an upcoming Batman comic book. You can learn more about that and see a couple sneak peeks of the cover on his Facebook page.
Update: Billboard premiered the new song on Thursday, and you can listen to it below.
In an interview you can read here, Chris explains the message in the song — combating all the negativity in the world today and instead spreading “positivity and love and how that could catch fire and spread across the multitudes.”
He said he’s eager for fans to hear “Torches” and “Go Down,” the other new song on the greatest hits album, “because I think it’s a great sign of what they can expect from the fifth album.”
