Night 6 of the blind auditions on The Voice

Off

Just four coveted spots on The Voice remain.

Last night, the show offered up a flurry of talent, with Josh Kaufman becoming the 10th contestant from Season 6 to earn a four-chair turn.

He opted to join Team Adam, giving the Maroon 5 singer a quartet of four-chair turn singers on his team.

Blake followed with three, Usher has two and Shakira has one … for those keeping count.

And each coach has just one spot remaining on his or her team.

Here are the artists:

Joe Trombino, 33, Queens, N.Y. Joe attended the “Fame” school and says he did music videos with Beyonce and Ricky Martin, but he wanted to sing. He and his brother started writing music and performing together. He has also helped take care of his grandmother, who suffered a stroke. The challenge now, Joe says, is to find a way to make music a full-time job. He’ll sing “Love and Happiness.” We immediately see the dancer in Joe. But this is a blind audition, so he might want to focus on the vocal and not the dance moves, which right now are more impressive than the singing. OK, Joe did show nice range near the end of that number. Grade: C

Kaleigh Glanton turned four chairs and joined Team Blake on The Voice.

Kaleigh Glanton turned four chairs and joined Team Blake on The Voice.

Kaleigh Glanton, 28, Wichita, Kan.: Her parents are divorced, but she lives mostly with her dad, who is a classical guitarist. That, naturally drew her into music. They formed a duo when she was 16, with her tagging along and singing. She’s also into cross-fit, and we get to watch her work out. She’s hoping to pursue music as a soloist now. She’s singing “Have You Ever Seen the Rain.” Nice tone. And she gets Adam to turn his chair early in the performance. And her unique vocals just keep those chairs turning. Blake, Shakira and Usher join Adam in facing the stage. Not surprising. She had a nice distinct sound. Shakira says she “adores” the “quirky” sound Kaleigh demonstrated. And Kaleigh joins Team Blake. Grade: B

Beau Thomas, 27, Frisco, Colo. He’s a full-time musician in a ski resort town and says the result is that his work is seasonal. For about three months of the year, he has very little work. He and his girlfriend have twins, and Beau says his family means everything. Since he’s self-taught, he’s looking toward The Voice to help improve his craft. He’ll sing “You Are the Best Thing.” The opening of this vocal is a little all over the place. And it never got a whole lot better. And no one turns for that performance. Grade: C–

Brittnee Camelle landed a spot on Team Usher on The Voice.

Brittnee Camelle landed a spot on Team Usher on The Voice.

Brittnee Camelle, 23, Lawrenceville, Ga.: She’s a student in college pursuing a career in nursing. She’s bi-racial and admits that resulted in an identity crisis for a while, But she says she always found comfort in music. If The Voice works out, she says she’ll lose her college scholarship. She’ll audition with “Skyscraper.” I didn’t love the opening. But Brittnee sounded much better as the song progressed. And her voice absolutely soars near the end of that performance. Usher turned around midway through the performance, and said he heard something “genuine” in her tone. Shakira turned around at the very last moment and said she was in awe over Britnee’s range. And Brittnee decides to join Team Usher. Grade: B–

Lindsay Bruce, 25, Santa Rosa, Calif.: She says she’s known as long as she can remember that she wanted to be a country music singer. She’s turned to music to recover from heartbreak throughout her life. Lindsay says her uncle was killed in the attacks on 9/11. She calls The Voice a big make-or-break moment for her. Unfortunately for her, the country coach has a full team. She’ll sing “Even If It Breaks Your Heart.” She has an interesting deep tone for a gal. And the range she shows on the chorus entices Adam to spin his chair. He’s joined by Shakira. Lindsay did have an intriguing sound. And she decides to join Team Shakira. That’s Shakira’s second female country singer. Grade: B

Caleb Elder, 19, Appomattox, Va.: This guy works in a doughnut shop. He admits he was shy and awkward as a youngster. He found an interest in music playing piano at his grandmother’s house. He now plays guitar, harmonica and banjo, too. He went to school for audio engineering, but decided to put that on the back burner in order to pursue music. He says he’s been listening to Adam perform since he was a little kid. Caleb will sing “Groove Me.” He’s showing some soul with this performance, and gets Adam to turn around quickly. Caleb has clearly overcome his shyness. He’s quite the performer, and shows off some nice dance moves, too. Adam complimented him on being a cool dude. Grade: B–
