years after his run on American Idol, Chris Richardson is working on his debut album.

That’s according to an interview with an ABC news affiliate in Virginia Beach, which interviewed Chris last week.

In the meantime, the 32-year-old singer from Chesapeake, Va., has a new single and video called “Rear View.”

You can check out the video at right.

Chris finished fifth way back on Season 6 of Idol. That’s the year Jordin Sparks won and Blake Lewis finished second.

Since Idol, Chris has released a single called “Joy and Pain” and videos for two other songs — “Why You Mad” and “In the Name of Love.”

He was also a featured vocalist on a single by Tyga called “Far Away.”
