Paul McDonald, the eighth-place finisher on Season 10 of American Idol, has released a new music video.

Paul McDonald, the eighth-place finisher on Season 10 of American Idol, has released a new music video.

Paul McDonald has released the music video for his latest single.

And on Facebook he reminds fans that “more music coming very soon. Can’t wait to share.”

The music video is for “Call on Me,” the lead single from his upcoming album, “Modern Hearts.”

Earlier this year, Paul told Billboard it’s actually the last song he wrote for the album, one that delivers some “I’m good again” swagger.”

Good again, that is, following his divorce from actress Nikki Reed, whom he met in 2011 while competing on Season 10 of American Idol.

In addition to marrying, the two made music together — an EP in 2012 and an album in 2014.

“Modern Hearts” will be Paul’s first major release since then. It’ll also be his first major solo release; pre-Idol he fronted two bands, Hightide Blues and The Grand Magnolias.

“Making this record, it saved my life,” Paul told Billboard. “It got me through some dark stuff, man.”

No release date has been announced for “Modern Hearts.” Earlier this year, Paul also released a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young.”

You can follow Paul through his Facebook page and website. On Twitter, he’s @thePaulMcDonald.

Here’s the new video.
