Wow, it must be couples week for the Season 10 American Idol contestants.
A video of Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart singing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” was released Tuesday morning.
And Wednesday a new song from Paul McDonald and wife Nikki Reed of Twilight fame will be available on iTunes.
Nikki debuted the song Monday on Ryan Seacrest live. It’s called “Now that I Found You.” You can listen to it below.
Nikki told Ryan that Paul wrote and recorded the music, and she wrote the lyrics on a flight back from Europe about a week and a half ago.
“Paul basically lives with a guitar strapped around his body, and he just walks around the house (and) plays stuff; I’ve experimented with writing lyrics for other people in the past,” Nikki told Ryan.
Coming from Paul and his guitar, the tune is sort of laid back, of course.
At about 1:30 p.m. (Tuesday), Paul tweeted that the song should be available on iTunes Wednesday.
Well, Nikki’s just sorta, a wee bit in the spotlight right now.
There’s the little matter of the midnight Thursday into Friday opening of “Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.”
Ah, Twilight.
Tweeted Paul after the Monday premiere in Los Angeles: “I have never experienced anything quite like a Twilight premiere. It was crazy!”
Now that’s something coming from a guy who experienced the Idol phenomenon.
As for their marriage? Paul has changed his Twitter bio to this: “I write songs and I married a smoking hot babe.”
