Peach Martine got a bit of the strange audition treatment from American Idol Sunday night.

Katy Perry seemed convinced the straight-A student was a robot, and Peach’s bio segment was edited to mimic that impression.

But after a cover of “Zombie” that was admittedly a bit over the top, Peach slipped behind the paino and showed her true colors — that of a potential budding pop star — by performing an original.

Katy still wasn’t sure the 16-year-old from Miami by way of Cleveland was ready for American Idol.

But Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan wisely cast the yes votes to send her off to Hollywood.

I say wisely because I’ve listened to Peach’s original music.

It’s wonderfully different.

And not the least bit robotic.
