Hey, it looks like Phillip Phillips’ second single is gaining some momentum.
“Gone, Gone, Gone” hit the Hot 100 for the first time last week, checking in at number 100.
The song also moved up from 18 to 15 on the Billboard’s rock songs chart and from 22 to 19 among adult pop songs.
It’ll be interesting to see if Phillips gets the Idol bounce lots of artists appearing on the show receive.
It goes like this: Play your new song on Idol, watch it jump up the charts the next week.
Phillip performed the single on Idol Thursday night, the same evening he was awarded a plaque signifying 4 million sales of “Home.”
“Home,” by the way, is still number one on the adult contemporary chart, a spot its held for seven weeks.
Other chart highlights:
* Blake Lewis’ new single, “Your Touch,” debuted at number 21 on the dance/club play songs chart.
* Colton Dixon’s debut album, “A Messenger,” bounced back from number 10 to number 3 on the Christian albums chart. And his “You Are” single reached a new peak of 14 on the Christian singles chart.
* Kelly Clarkson’s “Catch My Breath” hit new highs on the adult pop songs chart (number four) and the adult contemporary chart (number three).
Here’s the complete rundown.
