Phillip Phillips returns to stage for A Capitol Fourth

0

Don’t forget, Idol fans. Phillip Phillips returns to the stage Wednesday night for his first live performance since undergoing kidney surgery.

The occasion is A Capitol Fourth — the Independence Day celebration in Washington, D.C.

And it will be televised on PBS, from 8 to 9:30 p.m., with repeat broadcasts after that if the station sticks to what’s been the norm the past couple of years.

Phillip’s apparently ready. Between working in the studio, rehearsing for the upcoming Idol tour and attending the Spiderman movie premiere, he found time to tweet: “Pretty excited to play at The Capital Fourth. So unreal.”

He’s hardly the only TV personality of the musical type to be involved.

The artist lineup for the event also includes Megan Hilty, who co-stars with former Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee on Smash; Javier Colon, the season one winner of The Voice; and Amber Riley from Glee.

Head here for a complete list of performers.
