Check back at 8 p.m. for a live blog.
Meanwhile, here are my predictions on how everything will work out.
Safe for sure: Thanks to the 10-times multiplier for cracking the Top 10 on iTunes, landing there almost guarantees you’re advancing. That means Koryn Hawthorne and Sawyer Fredericks are in the Top 8. Speaking of Koryn, what a roll she’s on. Three straight outstanding performances of songs as diverse as “How Great Thou Art,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger” and Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain” make her a contestant to watch.
Should be safe: Three other ladies turned in memorable performances last night that show they belong on next week’s show. Those would be Meghan Linsey of Team Blake and Kimberly Nichole and India Carney of Team Christina. Because it opened the show, I’m not sure Kimberly’s performance of “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” got the appreciation it deserved. She pulled out some very impressive vocal gymnastics, folks.
Hoping they’re safe: There’s just something infectious about Hannah Kirby, and she delivered another fun performance Monday night, covering “Shout.” And I’m not sure what happened to Joshua Davis Monday night, but he’s been so good to this point, his Voice fate shouldn’t be determined by one off-key performance.
My bottom three: Would consist of Corey Kent White, DeAnna Johnson and Rob Taylor. If that winds up being the final three, look for Corey to advance. As Carson Daly notes every week, he’s the only country singer in the competition. And he’s got a Twitter army guarding his back compared to the social media support for DeAnna and Rob.
