The song, of course, is “Love Triangle,” one RaeLynn wrote about her own parents’ divorce.
The video debuted Monday at People.com, and RaeLynn explained to the magazine why she wanted a song like “Love Triangle” as the first single she released now that she’s with Warner Nashville.
“I wanted to come out with a song that was 100 percent me, and something more raw, because I want people to know that I’m not just a girl who sings fun, sappy songs, or just a bubbly girl,” she told the site.
“I’ve been through a few things. I know how it feels to go through tough life experiences and I wanted to show that in my music.”
RaeLynn, now 22, will share more of her own music on her upcoming album. She also told People she co-wrote all but one song on that project, due for release early next year.
RaeLynn finished in the Top 16 on Season 2 of The Voice. Another Voice alum, Nicolle Galyon, is a co-writer on “Love Triangle.”
As for the video, it already has more than 50,000 views on YouTube.
