Reagan James has released her third major post-Voice project in two years.

Reagan James dropped a new mixtape Friday, and she’s understandably proud of the project.

The mixtape is called “Honey,” a five-track offering from the young lady who cracked the Top 10 on Season 7 of The Voice at age 15.

Reagan calls “Honey” “the most eclectic, soulful, colorful group of songs I’ve ever written.”

“This truly is a special release,” she wrote days before “Honey” came out. “I feel as if though I’ve reached new levels creatively/musically. I’m looking forward to sharing my soul with you once again.”

Tops among the collection, to my ears, is “Better Than This,” which features a jazz opening and quickly develops into a soulful, sultry hip-hop flavored vocal from the now 18-year-old Reagan.

Reagan, raised in Burleson, Texas — yes, the same town that produced Kelly Clarkson — also just moved to Los Angeles

“I’m so excited, and ready for this next step in my life,” she writes on Facebook.

Reagan has been one of the most prolific Season 7 artists in terms of releasing new music. “Honey” follows the 2016 album “Have a Nice Day” and the EP “Message” from earlier this year. She’s also released a couple of singles since The Voice.

Here’s “Better Than This.”
