It also wound up being the first song he ever wrote.
The Season 15 contestant from The Voice said “Give You Up” was inspired by a phone call he got from someone with whom he used to be in a relationship.
“She was talking to me and tried to act like nothing was ever wrong,” Marlowe told his hometown newspaper, the Independent Tribune of Kannapolis, N.C.
“It was really weird and, when I hung up the phone, the words ‘I’m just going to give her up’ clicked in my mind and I thought I might be able to write on that.”
Kameron was 21 when he earned a spot on Team Blake Shelton. Stolen by Adam Levine in the knockouts, he made it to the live playoffs before being eliminated.
And judging from his show schedule, he’s going to be a busy guy this summer. You can check out all those dates by heading to his Facebook page.
Here’s “Give You Up.”
