Pia Toscano, Season 10

Regis tells Pia: Idol voting system ‘ridiculous’

We Idol fans who would like to see the voting system changed have an ally in Regis Philbin.

The unjustly ousted Pia Toscano appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly this morning.

She sang “All in Love is Fair,” which you can listen to in the video clip above.

During the interview portion, she delicately skated around the issue of whether or not she has a record deal (as reported by UsMagazine.com) and said she’s going to be busy preparing for the Idol summer tour.

Of course, there’s the post-Idol round of interviews to do first. On Thursday, Pia is scheduled to appear on Ellen.

That should be interesting, seeing as how Ellen chatted with Nigel a couple of weeks ago, predicted Pia would finish in the top two and suggested Lauren might not do as well because female viewers of Idol tend to vote for males.

I can’t wait to hear what Ellen has to say about Pia’s elimination.

Meanwhile, Regis went off on the Idol voting system.

“You can vote as many times as you want. Is that it? It’s ridiculous. It’s not a fair vote. I mean, it’s ridiculous.”

Hey, you don’t have to convince me, Regis.
