Sara Collins had already released two EPs prior to The Voice.
And now that she’s been eliminated from the show, she says more new music will be coming … as soon as it’s safe to head back into the studio.
A country artist, Sara landed a spot on Team Kelly Clarkson with an impressive blind audition performance of “Johnny and June.”
But the 18-year-old was eliminated following a battle round performance of Martina McBride’s “My Baby Loves Me” with teammate Mandi Thomas, though both singers received praise for their performance.
Here’s what Sara told Voice Views about that experience, her time on the show and her post-Voice plans.
Voice Views: What do you consider your biggest takeaway / lesson learned from The Voice experience?
Sara: I learned so many things during my time on The Voice so it’s difficult to pick one. Kelly was a great coach and taught me so many things during the time I had with her, and I would say that is probably my biggest takeaway.
Voice Views: What are your post-Voice plans musically? Where are you hoping this opportunity leads?
Sara: My post-Voice plans are to definitely release some new music and play live again when I can. Hopefully travel to different states to play music!
Voice Views: Do you have plans to release new music? If so, what can you tell us about that?
Sara: Yes, I have plans to release new music! As soon as it is safe to go outside I’m planning on getting back into the studio. I’m thinking of releasing an EP because I have quite a few songs I’ve written that I want everyone to hear!
Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about The Voice experience?
Sara: I had the greatest time being on The Voice. I made so many friends and loved getting to spend time in California. I learned so many things from the show and it is an experience I will never forget. I’m incredibly grateful.
