Season 9 Voice standout Manny Cabo releases a debut EP

Cabo auditioned for The Voice at age 45 and turned four chairs with his rendition of “Here I Go Again.”

Now the rocker has released his debut EP.

The four-track “Stratospheric” hit iTunes on Tuesday.

And the name stems not from one of the songs on the EP, but from his time on the show.

Pharrell Williams called his voice “just stratospheric,” adding, “You can make an album right now that would feel timeless.”

Indeed, Manny delivers an impressive performance on a power ballad called “Waiting,” arguably the best vocal on the new EP.

The other three tracks are all rockers, though you can certainly hear a southern rock influence on “So Close to You” and “Friday Night,” a celebration of weekends.

A New Jersey resident, Manny was working as a commercial and freelance photographer pre-Voice.

But he said it’d been his lifelong dream to “rock stages” and that he’d been in so many bands, he’d lost count.

These days, of course, he’s fronting his own band — and that band will be performing a benefit to raise awareness for rheumatoid arthritis in Bensalem, Pa., later this month. You can learn more about that here.

As for the EP, Manny says: “Hope you guys love it. That’s my passion placed nicely in a 4 song package!”

You can follow Manny through his website and Facebook. On Twitter, he’s @mannycabomusic.
