Singing shows & their stars up for People’s Choice honors

Voting has started to narrow the field of nominees for the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, and lots of Idols are in the running for honors.

But in one of the most interesting categories, The Voice, The X Factor and American Idol are all vying for honors as Favorite TV Competition Show.

And the competition for Favorite Celebrity Judge includes Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Britney Spears, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson and Steven Tyler.

In each category, there are 10 initial nominees. That field will be narrowed by five through fan voting which is already under way here.

Other nominees with singing show links:

Favorite Female Artist: Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are among the initial nominees, along with former Idol judge Jennifer Lopez and current judge Nicki Minaj.

Favorite Pop Artist: Kelly Clarkson is nominated. The initial field of 10 also includes Christina Aguilera of The Voice and Jennifer Lopez.

Favorite Country Artist: Carrie Underwood is nominated, of course. But so is Scotty McCreery, Blake Shelton and Jason Alden, who keeps getting tangled up with female Idols.

Favorite Song: “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson is nominated. So is Nicki’s “Starships” and Maroon 5’s “One More Night.”

Favorite Album: Carrie’s “Blown Away” is nominated along with Nicki’s “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” and Maroon 5’s “Overexposed.”

Favorite Video: Nicki’s “Starships” is nominated again. So is Jennifer’s “Dance Again” and Maroon 5’s “Payphone.”

Favorite Hip-Hop Artist: Nicki Minaj.

Favorite TV Drama: “Smash,” starring Katharine McPhee of Idol Season5.

Favorite Band: Maroon 5

Favorite Male Artist: Blake Shelton
