Siobhan Magnus from Season 9 of American Idol has released the first two songs of her tribute to Dusty Springfield.

Actually, only one song is available on iTunes — “Breakfast in Bead” — released last month.

But a signed CD single available from Siobhan’s website features that song and “Just a Little Lovin'” for $5.

Siobhan, the sixth-place finisher on Season 9 of American Idol, headed to Muscle Shoals, Ala., earlier this year to record new versions of 11 of the 25 songs Dusty Springfield recorded for her acclaimed 1969 album “Dusty in Memphis.”

Hits from that album include “Son of a Preacher Man” and “I Don’t Want to Hear About It Anymore.”

Siobhan plans to release her covers of the songs incrementally, then compile them on an album-length tribute to Dusty.

She premiered her versions in a late-October show at Cape Cinema in Dennis, Mass.

“I honestly don’t think I could have sung these songs confidently two years ago,” Siobhan, now 26, told the Cape Cod Times. “These songs are about grown-up feelings and relationships, and you need life experience to do them justice –- you need to feel them. I had a lot of growing up to do in order to do this. If you don’t understand the depth of the songs, it’s really impossible to make them come alive.”

Siobhan told the newspaper she’s also working on new original material. She released her debut album, “Moonbaby” in 2012. If you’ve never heard “Black Doll” from that album, be sure to check it out.

Here’s Siobhan’s take on “Just a Little Lovin’.”
