Billy Gilman hit number one with “I Surrender,” marking the first time he’s topped that chart.
Sundance Head, number one last week, slipped to number two, but still looks like a sure bet to make the finals.
Also in the Top 10 on iTunes: Josh Gallagher with his cover of “Danny’s Song” and Christian Cuevas with his version of “To Worship You I Live.”
Tonight, the Top 8 on The Voice will be whittled down to four finalists. The three highest vote-getters automatically advance to next week’s show.
The fourth finalist will be determined by a Twitter save.
Cracking the Top 10 on iTunes gives Billy, Sundance, Josh and Christian a much better chance of advancing via fan voting. That’s because any artist landing in the Top 10 has their iTunes downloads multiplied by five when votes are tallied.
It wound up being a great day for The Voice Top 8 on iTunes. Seven of the eight songs from Monday’s show finished in the top 14 on the overall singles chart.
The loan exception? Aaron Gibson, who made Voice history by earning a third straight Twitter save last week, but might have run out of second chances since the bottom two vote-getters won’t be eligible for a Twitter save this week.
The Voice singers also did exceptionally well on the genre charts, with contestants from the show claiming the top spot on the Christian, county, pop and rock charts when voting ended at noon eastern time on Tuesday.
Here are where all the contestants were ranked when voting ended.
As always, I’ll be updating the rankings at noon eastern time, when voting closes.
