Here’s a look at Team Gwen Stefani entering Monday’s live playoffs on The Voice.
Two singers advance this week based on fan voting. A third will be saved by Gwen.
Then the remaining highest vote-getter will have a chance to compete for the 13th spot in the Season 17 finals.
Rose Short: The 34-year-old from Killeen, Texas, performed “Preach” by John Legend in the blinds, turning two chairs. She won a battle round match over Jessie Lawrence; they performed “Can’t Feel My Face.” In the knockouts, she performed “Big White Room” to win over Zoe Upkins.
Jake HaldenVang: The 24-year-old from Charlotte, N.C., performed “Wish I Knew You” by the Revivalists in the blinds, turning three chairs. He won a battle round match over fellow rocker Caroline Reilly; they sang “Just Like a Pill.” In the knockouts, he performed “Powerful” to prevail over Royce Lovett.
Kyndal Inskeep: The 22-yar-old from Nashville, Tenn., sang “Never Been to Spain” in the blinds, turning three chairs. She won a battle round match with James Violet; they performed “I Could Use a Love Song.” Kyndal then performed “Elastic Heart” to win her knockout with Jessie Lawrence.
Joana Martinez: The 15-year-old from Miami, Fla., performed “Call Out My Name” by The Weeknd, turning three chairs in the blinds. She won her battle round match with Matthew McQueen; they sang “High Hopes.” She lost her Team Blake knockout round match against Ricky Duran, but convinced Gwen to steal her with her cover of “California Dreaming.”
Myracle Holloway: The 44-year-old from Los Angeles, Calif., performed “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars and turned two chairs in the blinds. She won her battle round match with Elise Azkoul; they performed “Breathin.” In the knockouts, Myracle performance “Can We Talk” to win a montaged battle over Calvin Lockett.
Prediction: Kyndal Inskeep is one of the most unique singer-songwriters among a Season 17 cast deep in singer-songwriter talent. Jake HaldenVang has the rocker lane all to himself and has been solid every time out. Rose Short has been spectacular in the last two rounds, both in terms of vocals and stage presence. They’re my three picks to advance.
