The Voice artists hit the Billboard charts, too

0

I already reported where Phillip Phillips’ and Kelly Clarkson’s new albums landed on the Billboard charts this week.

And that the single Phillip once disowned — “Home” — has reached a new peak of number eight on the Hot 100.

So what else happened on the Billboard charts this week?

So many people downloaded performances from The Voice, that three of the show’s artists showed up on the Hot 100.

And I’m pretty sure that’s the first time that has happened.

The trio was led by Cassadee Pope who checked in at number 25 among the week’s most popular singles with the Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert ballad “Over You.”

More impressive yet: The song landed at number three on the country singles chart, behind only Taylor Swift (“We are Never Ever Getting Back Together”) and Florida Georgia Line (“Cruise”).

The other Voice artists to crack the Hot 100 were Melanie Martinez at 86 with “Seven Nation Army” and Amanda Brown at number 97 with “Stars.”

Elsewhere on the chart:

  • Kelly Clarkson’s single from that greatest hits album — “Catch My Breath” — jumped 17 spots on the Hot 100, from 74 to 57.
  • Melanie Amaro’s dance single “Don’t Fail Me Now” has lost steam on the dance/club play chart, dropping from 18 to 19.
  • Chris Mann’s first post-Voice album moved up from 15 to 14 on the classical albums chart

Now, here’s a rundown of where all the Idols landed this week.
