The Voice, Blake, Maddie win at People’s Choice Awards

The Voice won the award for favorite TV competition show at the 2018 People’s Choice Awards Sunday night.

Carson Daly and Blake Shelton accepted the award.

Carson promptly thanked the show’s cast, crew and coaches, including former coach Gwen Stefani, who, of course, happens to be Blake’s girlfriend.

Blake promptly chimed in, proclaiming Gwen his “all-time favorite coach. I love her.”

Carson and Blake eventually encouraged Gwen, looking lovely in gold, to join them on stage.

Carson went to hand Gwen the trophy, leading her to proclaim “what am I doing? Oh, my gosh, I’m so excited to be with Blake shelton.”

Meanwhile, American Idol was nominated in the Revival TV Show category, but that victory went to Dynasty instead.

Among individual awards, Blake took honors as favorite country artist of 2018, and American Idol winner Maddie Poppe was named favorite TV competition contestant.

Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban were also nominated in the former category; Season 14 Voice winner Brynn Cartelli in the latter.

Nicki Minaj opened the show and received two awards, album of 2018 for “Queen” and favorite female artist of 2018.

Former X Factor contestant Camila Cabello was nominated in both of those categories and in the video of the year category, but came up empty in the trophy department.
