And Idol will have a chance to continue that winning streak in 2014.

Three former contestants were among nominees when they were announced earlier this month.

Fantasia leads the way with three nominations thanks to her album “Side Effects of You.”

That album has been nominated for best urban contemporary album and two tracks from it are also up for honors.

“Without Me,” also featuring Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliot has been nominated as the best R&B song.

And “Get It Right” was nominated in the best traditional R&B performance category.

Mandisa, the Season 5 contestant who has carved out a very nice career for herself in Christian music, is also up for three Grammys.

Her “Overcomer” album has been nominated as best contemporary Christian album.

The hit single by the same name is up for honors as the best contemporary Christian music song and the best gospel/contemporary Christian music performance.

The other Idol on the Grammy nominee list is Kelly Clarkson. Her “Don’t Rush” duet with Vince Gill is nominated as best country duo or group performance.

Nominated in the same category is “Highway Don’t Care” by Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, & Keith Urban.
