Now it looks like the appearance will coincide with some new Kellie Pickler music.

First, the concert news:  Tickets for that Aug. 4 show go on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. Saturday. They’ve been on sale since Tuesday to theater members.

Tickets are $52, and you can order by heading here.

Now, the music news:  Earlier this week, Kellie announced that she’s about to ship a new single, “Tough,” to country radio.

“Hope yall like fiddle, steel, spoons, banjo …. dirty country,” she tweeted, followed by a smiley face.

Kellie has every reason to smile.

Since placing sixth on Idol in season five, she’s released two successful albums, which is more than most country artists graduating from the show can say.

Her second self-titled album was released in September 2008 and featured “Best Days of Your Life,” her first top 10 single.

Which means we’re due to album number three. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.

A producer has. She’s working with Frank Liddell, who has also worked with country superstar Miranda Lambert.

Here’s a link to an interview in which Kellie talks about her desire to create “dirty country music” and an album “that is consistently me.”
