The PBS Memorial Day concert has usually been speckled with singing show stars.
This year was no exception, with both Katharine McPhee from Season 5 of American Idol and the newest Idol champ, Trent Harmon, both performing.
Trent performed the national anthem; Katharine sang a medley of “America the Beautiful” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
The concert aired Sunday night on PBS stations from Arlington National Cemetery.
Other featured performers included Trace Adkins and the Beach Boys.
During a Facebook chat prior to the performance, Trent said his debut album “is happening really fast,” that several of the 11 tracks are already completed and that he’s heard the release could come as soon as late fall.
He also recently recorded a song for the soundtrack of the new “Ice Age: Collision Course” movie.
Here are the performances by Trent and Kat.
